State Level Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Upper Primary Level (V-VIII)


 

Eligibility : Persons having the following educational qualifications are eligible for appearing in TET 2015 for Upper Primary Level.

Graduation and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (b.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalant) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalant) with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year B.Ed (Special Education).

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks as per relaxation given by Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of School Education and Literacy) vide notification number S.O.918(E) dated 1st April, 2015, which was published in the Gazette of India on 1st April, 2015).

 

Age : The minimum age limit shall be 20 years and maximum 40 years so long as the West Bengal Service (Raising of Age Limit) Rules, 1981, is in force. Upper age limit is however relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Casts/ Scheduled Tribes candidates, 3 years for other Backward Classes candidates and for the physically Handicapped Candidates, as per existing Government norms. The age shall be calculated as on the 1st day of January of the year of notification of the recruitment.

 

Reservation Policy : Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/St/OBS/PH.

Applicability of the Certificate : (i)  TET - 2015 shall apply to School managed by The Government of West Bengal / Local bodies and aided/sponsored schools in West Bengal. (ii) TET may also apply other schools or equivalent institutions, if such schools/educational institutes opt for it.

Qualifying Marks : A person who scores 60% or more in the TET examination will be considered as TET qualified. However relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBS/PH.
